Journey to Walking 26.2—Which Race to Choose?

If you've been getting into walking, you might want to challenge yourself to a race.  Just signing up and paying your registration is great motivation to get yourself out the door.  But which race should you choose?  Check out the video at the bottom of this post for more details, but here are a few you might want to check out.

The Color Vibe 5K is a fun race.  It is not timed, just a fun time and definitely walker-friendly.  You'll also get covered in paint powder and it makes for a great Facebook photo.
Me covered in paint after the Color Vibe 5K in Flagstaff.

The Rock n Roll series is extremely walker-friendly and a whole lot of fun.  They offer races all over the U.S. and even in Europe.
This is me after my first full marathon in San Diego. I'm still smiling!

The Disney races are all great fun and walker-friendly (as far as I know).  The two half-marathons I did at Disneyland were definitely walker-friendly.  Check out races at both Disneyland and Disney World.

The Hot Chocolate 5K/15K is a great race if you are a fast walker as it has a limit of a 15-minute pace.  This race always has a great hoodie or sweatshirt as the "goodie bag" and lots of great chocolate!

The Women's Running Series has walker-friendly races in California, Arizona, Florida, and Tennessee.  The medal for these races has a small charm attached that can be removed and attached to a necklace.

What are you waiting for?  Get signed up for a race near you and get training!
