On the left, I packed mostly clothing because there is a flap that zips shut. I also put one pair of shoes on this side. I put each pair of shoes in a little, flimsy bag to keep them from touching my clothes.
In the flap pockets, I stuffed underwear and socks on the other side I put two more pairs of shoes, makeup and toiletries bags (minus anything containing liquids), and my hair brushes.
Everything fit nicely and it wasn't too heavy. The best part was that I never had to open the bag at anytime during the journey through airports.
Be sure to check out Part 3 of this travel series next week. In that post and video, I will show my "Comfort Carry-On Bag" which contained the liquids I had to remove for going through security, my electronics, and other items I brought for entertainment on while on the plane.

There are great tips! I love the green toiletries bag :)
ReplyDeleteI have three of those bags. Orla Kylie from Target. I use one for toiletries, one for knitting projects, and one for toting my life planner and iPad to and from work. Love them!
DeleteI never thought about putting shoes in a little bag - great plan!
ReplyDeleteIt was really an after-thought and a great way to utilize those flimsy little bags!
DeleteGood tips. You can save a whole lot of money if you just go carry on nowadays, although I have yet been tempted to do it.

I think this was only the second time I've done carry-on only. It's so much easier to check a bag, but thought I'd give it a try. I'll still probably check bags in the future, but nice to know it's possible, if necessary. Thanks for commenting!
DeleteWhat fabulous tips! Carry on baggage is certainly the way forward and cheaper too! Airlines are daylight robbers!! Thanks for linking this up with #MMWBH x
ReplyDeleteI agree that the cost of checking bags is ridiculous. That's why I chose to do carry on for this last trip. It's do-able, but really takes some planning to have everything you need.
DeleteOh I am so particular when it comes to packing my bags and I have clearly inherited it from my dad's side of the family.
ReplyDeleteI am a co-host for Wake-Up Wednesday Linky Party and would like to thank you for partying with us.
